If you are in the business of reviving dead laptops or unbricking motherboards, you know the struggle: you buy a new programmer, it arrives in the mail, and the included mini-CD is either cracked or unreadable. Or worse, the software inside is outdated.

| EZP 2023+ Flashin BIOS |
Recently, many technicians have upgraded from the classic EZP2019 to the EZP2023+ (High-Speed SPI Programmer). While the hardware is significantly faster, finding the correct V3.0 software that actually plays nice with Windows 10 and 11 can be a headache.
Today, I’m sharing the tested working files for the EZP2023+, along with a practical, human-written guide on how to install the drivers without pulling your hair out over Windows security blocks.
Why Upgrade from CH341A to EZP2023+?
If you are still holding onto your old CH341A (the black or green generic dongle), you might be wondering if the upgrade is worth it. As someone who flashes BIOS chips daily, the answer is a solid yes, but with caveats.
The "Black Edition" CH341A is legendary for its low price, but it’s painfully slow. The EZP2023+ utilizes a USB 2.0 interface that reads and writes up to 3-4 times faster. When you are dealing with modern 16MB or 32MB BIOS chips (common in newer Gaming Laptops or Ultrabooks), that speed difference saves you 5 to 10 minutes per job.
- Auto-Detect Accuracy: The new V3.0 database identifies newer Winbond, Gigadevice, and Macronix chips that the old software simply labeled as "Unknown."
- Offline Copy: V3.0 allows for copy operations without a PC if you have a source chip plugged into the master slot.
- Stability: Less prone to random disconnects during the "Verify" stage compared to cheaper dongles.

Installation Guide: Fixing "Device Not Connected"
This is where 90% of technicians get stuck. You plug it in, the red LED lights up, but the software says "Not Connected".
This happens because the EZP drivers are often not digitally signed. Windows 10/11 will block them silently. Here is the 5-minute fix:
Step 1: Disable Driver Signature Enforcement
We need to tell Windows to lower its security shields temporarily.
-
1
Hold down the Shift key and click Restart on your Start Menu.
-
2
Your PC will boot into a blue menu. Go to:
Troubleshoot Advanced Options Startup Settings -
3
Click Restart.
-
4
When the list appears, press F7 on your keyboard.
Step 2: Manual Driver Update
Now that Windows is "Open" to outside drivers:
-
Plug in your EZP2023+ Programmer.
-
Open Device Manager via Right-click Start button. Look for "Unknown Device" or "WinUSB" with a ⚠️ icon.
-
Right-click it > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers.
-
Select the
Driversfolder inside the V3.0 file you downloaded. -
CRITICAL: Windows will show a red warning box. Ignore it and click "Install this driver software anyway."
Technician Tips
1. The "Chip ID Mismatch" Error
If the software detects the chip ID as FF FF FF or 00 00 00, don't blame the software yet. Usually, this is oxidation on the BIOS chip legs. Rub them with a standard eraser or some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) before clamping. Also, check if your clip is aligned with Pin 1 (the red wire).
2. Warning: 1.8V Chips
Many newer laptops (Gen 8 Intel and newer) use 1.8V SPI chips (like the Winbond 25Q64FW). While the EZP2023+ claims to support them natively, I have fried a chip or two trusting the auto-voltage. My advice: Always use a 1.8V Step-down Adapter between the programmer and the chip. It costs $3 and prevents a $200 headache.
The EZP2023+ V3.0 is a workhorse for the budget-minded repair shop. It bridges the gap between the cheap tools and the expensive RT809H. As long as you install the drivers correctly using the method above, it is a reliable daily driver.
