But we've all been there. It’s 4 PM, a deadline is looming, you send a massive stack of reports to print, and... silence.
The red light starts flashing, and the screen hits you with the dreaded notification: “Service Required” or “The ink pad is at the end of its service life.”
Panic sets in. You can’t afford downtime. But take a deep breath—your printer isn't broken. It’s just logically "paused," and you can fix it right now without waiting days for a technician.
Why Did This Happen? (Read This First)
Before we fix it, it helps to understand why the L15160 does this. As a high-performance printer, it pumps a lot of ink during cleaning cycles to keep the printhead clear. This waste ink goes into absorbent pads.
You likely know about the physical Maintenance Box (Gray Box) that you can buy and replace. However, this error often appears even if that box is new. Why? Because there are internal counters (like the Platen Pad) that the physical chip doesn't track. These are software counters, and they need a software reset.
The tool below allows you to reset those internal software counters back to 0%, tricking the printer into thinking it’s fresh out of the factory so you can resume work immediately.

How to Reset Epson L15160 (Step-by-Step)
Follow these steps exactly to avoid any communication errors with the printer.

Temporarily Disable Antivirus
Crucial Step: Resetter tools modify system registry files, which causes Antivirus/Windows Defender to flag them as "False Positives." Pause your protection for 10 minutes to allow the download and run.

Extract the File
The file is compressed. Right-click the downloaded ZIP file and select Extract Here. Do not try to run it directly from inside the ZIP.

Launch the Tool
Open the extracted folder and double-click
AdjProg.exe. If it asks for permission, click Yes. -

Select Model & Port
Click the Select button.
• Model Name: L15160
• Port: Auto Selection (or choose the USB port connected to the L15160).
Click OK. -

Enter Maintenance Mode
Click the button on the right labeled Particular Adjustment Mode. A list of functions will appear.

Reset the Counters
1. Scroll down to the "Maintenance" section.
2. Select Waste Ink Pad Counter and click OK.
3. Check the boxes for Main Pad Counter and Platen Pad Counter.

Final Restart
A popup will ask you to turn off the printer. Turn off the L15160 physical power button. Wait for the lights to go out, then turn it back on. Click OK on the computer screen.
Safety Advice
You have successfully reset the software limit. However, remember that ink is real matter. Resetting allows you to work now, but if you repeat this process 2-3 times without checking the physical pads inside the machine, ink may eventually overflow. We recommend scheduling a physical maintenance check-up when you have time.
