Resetter Epson SX235W SX230

The Epson SX235W SX230 is a reliable workhorse. It’s compact, prints great photos, and the Wi-Fi capability makes it a favorite for home offices. It works perfectly... untill it doesn't.

If you have landed on this page, you are likely facing the dreaded "Red Light Blinking" error. Your computer screen probably displays a message stating: “Service Required” or “Parts inside the printer are at the end of their service life.”

It usually happens at the worst possible time—right when you need to print a ticket or a report. The printer freezes and refuses to do anything.

✅ The Good News:
Your printer is not broken. This is a programmed "software lock," and you can fix it yourself in about 5 minutes without taking it to a service center.

Why Did My Printer Stop? (The Logic)

To understand the fix, you need to understand the cause. Inside the Epson SX235W, there are waste ink pads (sponges). Every time you run a head cleaning cycle, waste ink is pumped onto these pads.

Epson programs a digital counter into the mainboard. This counter estimates how full those sponges are. Once the counter hits 100%, the printer locks itself to prevent potential ink leakage. It’s a safety mechanism, but often the sponges aren't actually full yet.

The Solution: We need to use the Adjustment Program (Resetter) to reset that digital counter back to 0%. This tells the printer, "I have a new pad," allowing you to resume printing immediately.

Maintenance Advice

Please Note: You have successfully reset the software counter, but the waste ink is still physically inside the pads. If you are a heavy user, consider inspecting the pads or installing an external waste ink bottle mod in the future to prevent leaks.
